The Sturgeon Bay Girls Golf team put together a busy and encouraging week on the course, competing in three Bay Conference matches and showing continued improvement along the way!
On August 24 at Crystal Springs Golf Course in Seymour, the Clippers finished 4th out of five teams with a score of 245. Maggie Huempfner led the team with a 56, followed by Hayden Montevideo with a 59.
The girls followed that up with a strong performance on August 25 at Vernon Hills Golf Course in Oconto. Sturgeon Bay posted a team score of 224, finishing just one stroke behind Xavier. Hayden led the way with a 55, while Talia Schmidt and Kennedy Hoernke each shot 56. Mady Schulz and Maggie each added 57s, making it a great all-around team effort.
The Clippers returned to Vernon Hills on August 27 and continued their strong play, finishing 3rd out of five teams with a score of 232. Kennedy had an outstanding day, shooting a personal-best 51 to lead the team! Hayden added a strong 57 as the Clippers finished ahead of Oconto and Bonduel.
The JV team also had plenty to celebrate, with Maria Neri earning gold medalist honors after shooting an impressive 52! 🥇👏
It was a great week of progress for Sturgeon Bay Girls Golf, filled with personal accomplishments, strong team performances, and plenty to build on as the season continues.
The Clippers return to action September 8 in Shawano for another Bay Conference match.
