Hello, spring! 🌱✨

A new season brings fresh energy and new chances to grow. Just like flowers start from tiny seeds, every bit of effort in reading and learning helps our kids bloom.

Here’s to curiosity, progress, and celebrating every little win!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! ☘️🌈

While we might be searching for four leaf clovers today, strong reading skills don’t come from luck. They come from clear, structured instruction and meaningful practice.

Little by little, readers build the skills that lead to confidence. And that kind of progress is pure gold. ✨📚

One of the most common questions I hear is: “They’re still mixing up b and d… is it dyslexia?” 🤔

Letter reversals are not dyslexia. This is actually something called mirror invariance. The brain is naturally designed to recognize objects as the same no matter their direction. That skill is incredibly helpful in everyday life, but reading asks the brain to do the opposite. Suddenly, direction matters. 🔄➡️

Because of this, letter reversals are very common in early readers and are considered developmentally typical while children are learning to connect letters with sounds and build automatic recognition. 📚

Reversals become more of a concern when they persist after a child has had time and instruction to learn letter–sound patterns, especially if they appear alongside ongoing difficulties with reading or spelling. But, with explicit, structured instruction, children can learn to read print both accurately and confidently. 🌱✨

If you’re navigating early reading questions, I’m always here to help. 💛📚

This is why we do what we do. Reading success is not about luck or labels. It’s about instruction that works. When we teach explicitly and systematically, children grow into confident readers. 💛

If you’re navigating reading challenges, you’re not alone. The right support truly makes a difference. If you’re seeking clarity or next steps for your child, I’m here to help. ✨

Two years. So many lesson plans. Early mornings. Late nights. Lots of learning. Lots of stretching.

Today, I’m incredibly excited to share that I’m officially certified at the Associate Level through the Orton-Gillingham Academy. 🎉

This journey grew me in the best ways. It sharpened my instruction, deepened my understanding, and strengthened my commitment to doing this work with excellence and integrity. Structured literacy truly changes lives, and I do not take lightly the responsibility of serving students with instruction that is explicit, systematic, and grounded in how they learn best.

I am thankful. I am proud. I am excited. There’s something special about working hard when the why is clear. 📚✨💛

“Audio eliminates the burden of lifting the words off the page. When fluency is low, kids can’t get to the meatier stuff of comprehension.” – Dr. Molly Ness 🎧

With 15- to 19-year-olds reading less than 15 minutes a day on average, audiobooks are a powerful way to make reading accessible, enjoyable, and meaningful. 📚✨💛 They boost comprehension, build confidence, and help teens fall in love with stories no matter how they access them.

Dyslexia often runs in families. 💛

For many families, a diagnosis doesn’t start a story. It explains one. Sometimes a child’s identification brings clarity to a parent’s past.

When we know better, we do better. Early identification can change the trajectory not just for one child, but for generations. 📚✨

If this feels familiar, you are not alone.

We don’t have to “wait and see.”
We can identify. We can support. We can act early. 💛

This is why we teach sounds, not memorization.

It’s about giving kids the tools to read any word. When they understand how letters work together, reading unlocks. ✨📚
