FENCING, ANYONE??
My name is Tom Eisenhauer, and I'm the Senior Sports Development Manager for USA Fencing, the national governing body for the sport of fencing in the United States. Part of my role is to help create new opportunities for young people to experience fencing, particularly those who may not otherwise have the opportunity to try the sport.
Several parents in the fencing community who homeschool their own children encouraged us to explore ways to introduce fencing to more homeschool students. Their feedback prompted me to reach out and learn whether fencing might be an activity your students would enjoy.
We recently launched En Garde! Fencing, a structured 12-session introductory experience designed to give elementary and middle school aged students the opportunity to try fencing. The program includes the equipment and video-based curriculum needed to deliver the experience, allowing parents, co-op leaders, or other volunteers to lead the program—no prior fencing experience is required.
Using age-appropriate foam equipment, students are introduced to the fundamentals of fencing while developing skills such as focus, discipline, confidence, teamwork, and respect.
We're beginning to explore how En Garde! Fencing might work within homeschool communities, and I'd love to hear from those in the community about whether this is something their students and families might enjoy. If it sounds like a potential fit for your community, I would welcome the opportunity to learn more about your experiences and explore the possibility together. Simply reply to this email or fill out the interest form and we can schedule a call.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!
