Howardena Pindell recalls the profound childhood memory behind one of the most enduring motifs in her work – the circle.🟣🔵🔴 This formative encounter with Jim Crow segregation laws profoundly influenced Howardena’s artistic practice, manifesting in her work through ubiquitous variations of the circular motif – ellipses, perforations, spray-painted dots and hole punches. Fun workshop. Rembrandt and Masters techniques. Stuart, FL. My Demo, start to finish, 2.5 hours..Our Wkshp 16 hrs total. Everyone did a great job.!! Today I paint contemporary, but understanding values, texture, glazing, paint properties and application, when staring at a Rembrandt is 'eye candy'.💛🎨

To mention: we are fine. A lot of FL folks took a terrible hit. 🙏 The state was well prepared as best possible. We had 17 hurricanes in Martin County. 2 lives and 100 homes lost in the town above us, PSL. Still getting the news. West Coast FL took a beating..To all those affected we hope no one was injured and recovery efforts be swift and successful.
