The Literacy Colleagues

Start With Literacy! For Family Night, The Literacy Colleagues came and spoke about the benefits of reading with your kids and finding topics they enjoy. The organization discussed various steps to engage children when reading, such as asking questions about the cover and discussing the text before turning the next page. Together, the parents and Club members read National Geographic’s “Little Kids First Big Book of Space” or “Kids Everything Space,” based on their age. After reading time, each kid made their own solar system with painted planets and took home a copy of the book.

Literacy Colleague and amazing educator; Mrs. Sharp presented an amazing Family Literacy Night all about growing the love of reading at home. Students and families read about and created an amazing solar system for the venue to display. 👏 👏 👏

Although we still want further info about how more than $70 million will be spent (we know topics but you know we want exact details), 200 million of HB3 will be used to deliver high-interest texts into the homes and hands of our neediest children. That makes us VERY happy!
