American Red Cross - Give blood The need for blood is constant – every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. In fact, each day, the American Red Cross must collect approximately 14,000 units of blood to meet the needs of patients at around 2,600 hospitals and transfusion centers

Happy to announce that we won last week's Blood Drive Challenge! We collected a total of 379 units and University of Tennessee collected 328. Thank you to everyone who donated and volunteered. We're looking forward to next month's drive!

Due to weather and building closures today's blood drive has been cancelled. Any scheduled donors are invited to reschedule for our next blood drive in March at redcross.rso.uconn.edu. We apologize for the inconvenience but a big thank you to everyone who came out and helped make this week a success. Details to come on who won the competition between us and University of Tennessee.
