The process of is not always swift. There are moments during labor there really isn’t much a can do physically for her client but be there for her while she sleeps. Watching. Waiting. Their attentive presence in the room is all that is needed until nature takes its course. A doula provides , and . A is more than what you see. It’s the hidden sacrifices she made to be there for her client such as finding last minute child care, missing her children’s bedtime, missing dinner with her family, missing the comforts of a warm bed, missing out on social gatherings and family events BUT without complaint b/c she understands HER WORTH to the laboring mom and she is worth every penny!!! 👣❤️

Sometimes the unexpected happens. When you choose a , you choose someone who is rooted and grounded in a community of selfless, dedicated, and committed . We are there to help the birthing mom experience her best possible birth. When one is weak the other is strong. When one cannot the other will. A is the one that the mom, the family and especially the main doula leans on in time of need and when the unexpected happens. We are one.

The number of pregnancy-related deaths in the U.S. rose in 2020, the first year of the pandemic, according to a new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The report finds there were 861 maternal deaths in 2020, up from 754 in 2019 and 658 in 2018. That translated to 23.8 deaths...
