Congratulations to Ms. Willis for being selected as the May Crush It Service Award recipient.

Ms. Willis started at the Ranch in 2007 after 3 years at George Komure as the librarian assistant and textbook clerk. In 2007 she came to the Ranch to work more closely with the kids as an RSP/SDC Paraprofessional in the Special Ed Department. In 2009 she moved to the Moderate/Severe classroom in 303 and remained there until 2014 when she left to pursue teaching at Delta Charter as a K-8 RSP teacher. In 2016 she returned to Manteca Unified as a substitute teacher. In 2017 she was hired as a permanent SPED teacher for the 17-18 school year. In March of 2017 positions at Weston Ranch were being rearranged and she was called in to start her teaching career at WR a little earlier than planned. She finished the end of 2017 as the teacher in room 303 and has remained in the same classroom ever since.

Help us in congratulating, Ms. Willis.👏🏽👏🏽

🐾 Community Spotlight 🐾

Juan Avila was selected as the May community spotlight.

“A year ago, Juan Avila approached the baseball program with a willingness and desire to not just assist the baseball program, but to push it to be better every day. He has provided unwavering support at practice home and away games, a constant reminder to strive for the highest level of success even if members of the program are struggling. He provides invaluable resources for the program without hesitation always asking how he can help more. Mr. Avila is a true member of the baseball program in every way, and consistently makes those around him better. The baseball program appreciates him and his efforts more than he knows. Thank you Mr. Avila.

Mr. Avila has been a consistent presence on our campus and an invested partner in the work of continuous school improvement. Through his service on the School Site Council, he has contributed his voice, perspective, and time toward conversations centered on student needs, school priorities, and the long term direction of our campus. His engagement reflects more than attendance. It reflects ownership and belief in the work we are doing together as a school community.

What further sets Mr. Avila apart is his willingness to engage directly and constructively with site administration.

Mr. Avila is also a consistent and visible supporter of the Weston Ranch High School baseball program. Whether at home or away games, he shows up for students and programs in meaningful ways. His presence reinforces to students that their efforts matter and that families are invested in their success both on and off the field.

Perhaps most importantly, Mr. Avila represents what we hope for in parent engagement. He is reliable, informed, involved, and aligned with the direction of the school. He understands that student success is strongest when families and schools work together with shared purpose and trust.

Weston Ranch High School sincerely thanks Juan Avila for being a model of active parent involvement and for his continued commitment to our students, staff, and broader school community.”

Join us in congratulating, Juan Avila 👏🏽

🐾 Community Spotlight 🐾

Jessica Isherwood was selected as the May community spotlight.

“Ms. Jessica Isherwood is and has been a huge asset in the WRHS Community.   Whether she is helping with an art show, dedicating her time to the performing arts, or volunteering as a parent on School Site Council, you can always find her.  She has been an active parent for years, supporting her former graduates, as well as working with her youngest at August Knodt.  She is an active supporter of not only WRHS but also the feeder school where her daughter attends.  Most of us know her daughter and son who graduated from WRHS, and I am happy to let you know there is another Isherwood coming to the Ranch soon!!

She is always volunteering and helping with supplies, supervision and even snacks! She is the true example of being involved in her community and making our schools better.

Jessica, thank you for always being involved, not only on behalf of your children, but also fo the community of WRHS.  Your efforts are always appreciated and we are grateful to have you!”

Join us in congratulating, Jessica Isherwood 👏🏽

🐾 Community Spotlight 🐾

Eric Duncan was selected as the May community spotlight.

“On behalf of Weston Ranch High School, we would like to proudly recognize and thank our Board Area Trustee, Eric Duncan, for his continued support of our campus and community.

Over the past several years, Weston Ranch High School has faced growing and increasingly complex needs. Throughout that time, Trustee Duncan has remained a consistent advocate for our students, staff, and families. His support has been especially impactful in areas that directly influence student success, school culture, and long-term growth.

One key area of support has been the approval and creation of additional math support on our campus. This work has strengthened academic access for students and reinforced our commitment to meeting diverse learning needs.
Trustee Duncan has also supported efforts to expand mentorship opportunities for students, recognizing the importance of strong relationships, guidance, and positive role models in helping students thrive both academically and personally.

In addition, Trustee Duncan has been a strong advocate for improving school facilities, ensuring that our campus environments support safety, learning, and pride across the Weston Ranch community.

Beyond his role as a trustee, Trustee Duncan continues to work directly with youth in the Weston Ranch community as a coach. His hands on involvement reflects a deep commitment to our students that extends beyond board service and into daily impact.

Trustee Duncan’s presence, advocacy, and willingness to remain closely connected to our school community.

Weston Ranch High School sincerely thanks Eric Duncan for his leadership, service, and unwavering support of our community.”
