Do what works best for your family, solid in the foundational truth that what works for one person doesn't always work for others.
There's a difference between equality and equity. Allowing unwarranted comments to fall to the side really helps with the understanding that subjectivity is how each of us form the beliefs that shape our experiences.

Today's homeschool day allowed for a field trip to the bookstore. π We found two new books from our favorite series, spent time reading together, and played with the train set in the kids' area. And of course, no trip to the book store would have been complete without fitting in as many rides up and down the escalator as possible.
Learning doesn't always have to happen at a table. By reconnecting with joy, we can discover that learning can come from following curiosity, exploring new books, having fun together, and so much more. β¨

What have you or your children created through boredom? β¨
I finally finished sewing my bookmarks, and Arthur spent his free time playing with Play-Doh today. Tomorrow, I can't wait to see what awaits when boredom strikes.

One of my favorite things about homeschooling is how flexible it can be. We havenβt done a book study in almost a year, but today Arthur asked for dinosaurs. So we made a list together of topics to explore over the next week. After reading, we set up some materials and created a dinosaur sensory bin. π¦
Arthur found a broken catapult he wanted to use, which turned into a wonderful lesson for using the hot glue gun together. And after, we launched dinosaurs across the room. We watched SciShow Kids dinosaur videos while drawing pictures, and kept the learning going by making different footprints out of Play-Doh and trying to figure out what animal or dinosaur it could have come from. π¦
Homeschool can look however your family needs it to look in whatever season youβre in. Sometimes the best learning starts with following what sparks joy. β¨

There are so many reading programs for children during the summer.
We love the fun that our local library provides, and every summer we come back to the Pizza Hut and Barnes & Nobles reading programs. What are your favorite to participate in? π

How are you finding ways to take learning outdoors now that it's starting to get warmer out? π¦ββ¬
Letβs be honest: taking a whole class outside is extra work. It means managing muddy shoes, scattered attention, and unpredictable weather.
But the payoff is everything.
To the teachers who trade the whiteboard for the woods and head out the door anyway: thank you. Youβre giving kids the space to breathe, explore, and actually connect with the real world. π²βοΈ

How did you and your little learners play today? βοΈ
It has been so warm lately, perfect for chalk, water guns, bubbles, and so much more.
It's so much more than "just playing".
