Recent outreach at DVC Diablo Valley College, myself, Amber Shigg (DSD Vice President) and Jodie Wallace (DSD Secretary)

Tour Day for Dietetic Students for Diversity is April 20th from 2-430pm. There will be a campus tour followed by admission and Diversity program presentation. Included will be a Q & A session with the Program Director/Advisor Sarah Josef. All who wish to attend that I have not already reached...Please send an email of interest to [email protected]. More successful outreach at Los Medanos College

We did successful outreach twice at Los Medanos College, recruited 17 prospective students for Tour Day at SFSU, April 20th

DSD Update

Currently, our outreach has been focused on visiting community colleges and high schools to attract prospective students from underrepresented populations; encouraging them to apply to our program with the added benefits provided by DSD. Our recent outreach efforts were met with much enthusiasm and interest. Our near future outreach will also include presenting in nutrition classes at the high school and college levels.

April 9th at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, noon - 2pm
April 14th at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, noon - 2pm
April 16th at Los Medanos College in Pittsburg, Transfer Day, time TBD
Several outreach events pending, TBA.

On April 20th, the DSD is hosting a SFSU campus tour for these prospective students. In this tour we will be showing off our Meile Lab, Vista Room, and having a Q & A session with Sarah Josef, MA, RD, founder and chairperson of DSD.

We are looking for new DSD committee members. If you are interested in joining, please attend our next meeting on March 30th at 3pm in the Meile Lab, BH room 406.
