On the road again, and this time was for a walking tour and lunch in Rio Vista. KUDOS to this lovey little city for building a beautifully landscaped walk way starting at the bridge with lovely views along the river. Our tour included the history about Rio Vista, the architecture and historical buildings, plus the downtown area, with numerous nice restaurants and shops.

SICL members enjoyed a unique experience learning about and walking through a labyrinth. A HUGE thank you to our instructor, Debra, and her husband, Floyd-the gardener, for opening their beautiful home and yard to us. We are grateful for their generosity, knowledge, and refreshment.

As SICL comes to an end for the fall 2025 term, we look forward to our new and interesting spring 2026 offerings.

May 1 was the final event for SICL's spring term. We enjoyed a delicious lunch at Go Falafel. One of the owners told us how the business started as a food truck and later expanded to their location on Pacific Avenue. SICL's Fall term will run from Sept. 8-Nov. 14. SICL was "the road again" for an interesting tour of the newest state park project: Dos Rios in Modesto. The transformation that was made over the past five years, through planting natural plants and vegetation on virtually bare land, was amazing. Our members took a 1.5 mile walk around the pond while enjoyed the spring flowers, birds, and nature.

Did you know that there are only 10 World Peace Rose Gardens in the world, and one of them is in Stockton. SICL members enjoyed a very interest tour at University Park, located at 599 E. Magnolia. Roses galore and poems on plaques written by children about Peace were enjoyed by all.
