This journal is where our students keep their worship studies and music assignments—writing, reflecting, and growing week by week.
At Agape Worship Arts, we train musicians and form worshipers. 🎶📖
Learning inversions isn’t just about theory—it’s about serving the song.
When students understand how harmony works, worship music like How Great Thou Art becomes connected, intentional, and rooted in purpose.
This is how we teach music:
theory, technique, theology, and heart together.
🎹🎼🙏
This past year has been about more than singing. She’s been learning the major scale, learning how to apply her voice into worship, and learning how to lead by praying — even though English isn’t her first language. Singing Way Maker, supported by her brother on drums (who’s been learning since he was four), this is what worship formation looks like. 🤍
Today students are working on various assignments from the a minor pentatonic scale, 6/8 guitar rhythm, standard notation, progressions, piano rhythms, and worship studies. All to help develop their music and faith with applied learning exercises.
Learning Lead Sheets
Recognizing repeated form
Lead sheets do not always have the chords written for Verse 2 because it uses the exact same progression as Verse 1.
Students learn this as a skill by practicing chord progressions and recognizing repeated form — not by guessing.
This is how we build understanding to follow lead sheets confidently as worship musicianship.

Today this drum student is practicing a foundational 16th-note drum fill from the Agape Worship Arts® curriculum — building rhythmic understanding that can be applied to any worship song. Here it is applied in No Longer Slaves.

Inspiring faith through music education.
Christian music education must be spiritually formative—not just technically proficient.
Here, a student is learning to read the treble clef using a faith-anchored acronym system that connects musical literacy with spiritual purpose.
Music shapes the hands—but worship shapes the heart.

Learning chord progressions is a foundational approach to learning how worship songs are structured. When students learn chord progressions, they gain the ability to:
• play multiple worship songs with confidence
• recognize patterns across different keys
• focus on worship instead of guessing what comes next
This is how musicians move from memorizing to leading.

We’re booking churches for this season
Agape Worship Arts® is opening its February–May calendar to serve churches through a Youth Worship Lead Experience. Students lead worship by playing all instruments themselves and guiding congregations through familiar worship songs, followed by a brief word of encouragement.
If your home church—or a church you are connected with—would be interested in hosting this experience, please direct message us or share this post with your pastor or worship leadership team.
