Stockdale FFA Booster Club Meeting Highlights – 8/31/26

Here are a few of the major highlights from last night’s meeting. Full meeting minutes will be posted separately.

Casino Night: The casino company is available for our date, and we are moving forward with preparations. We are still finalizing food, insurance, margarita machines, cups and other event details.

Soda & Water Donations: FFA members can earn 1 point by donating either a 12-pack of sodas or a case of water for Casino Night.

Ear Tag Fundraiser: Selling ear tags will replace Cut the Cards this year. If all ear tags are sold, we have the ability to raise $4,900. There will be three prizes — a cash prize, a men’s prize and a women’s prize. The men’s prize will be some type of gun, with the specific selection still being determined.

Prospect Show: We are on track for the Prospect Show and our judges are set. We discussed that steer and heifer showmanship will be held between the steer and heifer shows.

Point System: We discussed bringing back a point sheet so FFA members know exactly what activities and opportunities are available to earn points throughout the year.

Supporting FFA Members: We discussed ways the Booster Club can better support FFA members with FFA-related expenses and competitions while staying within our budget. More details will be worked out as we move forward.

Upcoming Meetings: The next FFA meeting is September 14, followed by October 5.

Howdy y’all! I’m McKenzie Mays from Stockdale, Texas. I am so excited to announce that I am the new Today's Youth In Agriculture Ambassador representing The Great State Of Texas!! I am proud to be a part of the agriculture industry and excited to represent the people, animals, and hard work that make agriculture so important. I currently serve as my FFA chapters President, and am very active with school activities but i also focus my passion on my show steers. As an Ag Ambassador, I’m looking forward to sharing my passion for agriculture, connecting with others, and helping tell the story of where our food, fiber, and resources come from.
This is such an amazing and fun opportunity, and I believe we're all going to have a great year!🫶🏻

To help accommodate those who would like to attend both meetings, we’ve moved our Stockdale FFA Booster Club meeting from Monday to Sunday.
Join us Sunday, July 26 at 6:30 PM in the Ag Building as we kick off the new school year! We’ll be discussing upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and ways we can support our amazing Stockdale FFA students.
Whether you’re a returning member or new to the Booster Club, we’d love to have you there. We hope to see you Sunday!

Congratulations to our very own Mrs. Lynn Woolever-Telleen on being named the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) Veterinary Science Contest & Clinic Champion at the Agriculture Teachers Association of Texas Conference!

Competing with 44 other Ag teachers from across Texas, Mrs.Woolever earned this incredible honor through her outstanding veterinary science knowledge and dedication to agriculture education.

We are so proud to have her representing Stockdale FFA and inspiring our students every day. Congratulations on this well deserved accomplishment!
