Play-based learning is such an essential part of early childhood education! To ensure that all PreK children are given the same learning experience across the district, SPEF worked with SPS educators to create a standard of equipment and manipulatives needed and provided $43,875 to purchase these items! Fantastic work! Congratulations to Mrs. Mitchell and her class for being awarded a SPEF Teacher Grant for $2,000! This grant is for cooking equipment and tools for the Pathfinders program at SHS that teachers young adults with disabilities life skills to live independently.
Summer is almost over, but before we start a new year, let's look back at 2022-23! Last year, SPEF gave $151,341 to the Stillwater Public Schools! On Friday, SPEF was awarded a $14,800 Simmons Foundation Make a Difference Grant for our Play-Based Learning Initiative! A huge thanks to the Simmons Foundation for supporting this important project! The Play Based Learning initiative seeks to provide Pre-K and Kindergarten classrooms across the district with play-based materials that support the Oklahoma State Standards in the areas of creative play, math and reading.
