A Mustang hello from Miss Jarvis:
In FFA, each student does an agricultural project of his/her choice. This could range from raising an animal to a research assignment. Check out our awesome freshmen on their projects!

Dear Mustang Families,

As many of you have seen, our accountability rating from last year was not where we want it to be. It was extremely disappointing. We can make excuses, point fingers, or spend our time looking backward—but that is not who we are, and that is not what we are going to do.

It is a new year. A fresh start. And I can promise you this: I am not going down without a fight, and neither are our teachers.

From 7:45 in the morning until 4:15 in the afternoon, your children are ours, too. We love them. We believe in them. We worry about them. We celebrate them. We push them when we know they are capable of more. And this year, we are going to work our tails off for them.

But this isn't just about a rating.

It's about making sure every child who walks through our doors grows.

It's about a child finally understanding something they've struggled with.

It's about moving from "I can't do this" to "I DID IT!"

It's about setting goals, tracking progress, celebrating growth, and teaching our kids that hard work matters.

And yes—it's about showing everyone exactly what our little school is capable of.

We are a family at Morgan Mill. And when a family faces a challenge, we don't turn on one another. We rally around one another.

Our teachers are going to need your support. Our students are going to need your encouragement. And there will be times when we ask you to partner with us—whether that's getting your child to school every day, reading at home, practicing a skill, attending tutorials, celebrating progress, or simply reminding your child that they are capable of hard things.

To the families who have supported us, encouraged us, trusted us, and continued to stand behind our school—thank you. Please know how much that means to us.

We have work to do, and we aren't afraid of it.

This year, we are going to set goals.
We're going to work hard.
We're going to hold ourselves and our students to high expectations.
We're going to celebrate the little wins AND the big wins.
And when something doesn't work, we're going to adjust, get back up, and try again.

A number may tell us where we started.

It does NOT get to decide where we finish.

We've got this, Mustangs. 💜

Now it's time to get to work.

Together, we are going to GROW. Together, we are going to GRIT. And together, we are going to show what Morgan Mill can do.

With love, determination, and Mustang pride,

Kourtney Huntington

Morgan Mill ISD Accountability: Our Commitment to Improvement

Dear Morgan Mill ISD Community,

We want to address the recent accountability rating for Morgan Mill ISD and, most importantly, what we are doing about it.

Receiving an F rating is not the outcome we want for our students, our staff, or our community. We understand that an accountability grade can raise questions and concerns, and we believe our community deserves an honest explanation and a clear plan for moving forward.

While an accountability rating is based on specific state assessment and accountability measures, we do not intend to make excuses or point fingers. We own the results, and we are committed to improving them.

What Are We Going to Do?

Our response will be focused, intentional, and data-driven. We are taking several immediate steps:

* Analyze the data: We will closely examine student performance to identify specific areas of weakness by grade level, subject, and student group.
* Strengthen instruction: Teachers and administrators will use assessment data to identify learning gaps and provide targeted instruction and intervention.
* Monitor progress regularly: Student progress will be monitored throughout the year rather than waiting until state testing to determine whether students are improving.
* Provide targeted interventions: Students who need additional support will receive focused intervention designed around their individual academic needs.
* Support our teachers: We will provide professional development, collaboration time, instructional resources, and ongoing support to help teachers address identified areas of need.
* Increase accountability: Campus and district leadership will regularly review progress and adjust our strategies when something is not working.
* Keep parents informed: We will communicate with families about academic progress and provide opportunities for parents to partner with us in supporting their children.

Our Commitment

An accountability rating is a measurement of performance—not a definition of our students, our teachers, or our school district. At the same time, we cannot ignore the results. They tell us where we have work to do, and we intend to do that work.

Morgan Mill ISD is a small, rural school district, but we have never allowed our size to limit what we believe our students can accomplish. Our students deserve a high-quality education, strong instruction, and every opportunity to be successful.

We will approach this challenge with honesty, urgency, and determination. We will celebrate the areas where our students are succeeding, identify where they need additional support, and relentlessly focus on improvement.

We ask our parents and community to partner with us. Ask questions. Stay involved. Encourage your children. Communicate with our teachers. Most importantly, continue to believe in our students and in the people who work every day to serve them.

We are not satisfied with an F, and we are not going to accept it as our future.

We know improvement will not happen overnight, but we are committed to doing the work necessary to get Morgan Mill ISD where it needs to be—and where our students deserve for it to be.

Our students are worth the work. Our community is worth the work. And we are ready to get to work.

Sincerely,
Morgan Mill ISD Administration

🏫 FIRST TWO DAYS — WALKING STUDENTS IN
On Monday and Tuesday, parents and families are welcome to come inside and walk their child to their classroom.
You may walk your child to their classroom door, give them a hug, and say hello to their teacher. Once you have helped your child get settled, their teacher will guide them on where to go and what to do until the morning bell rings. We kindly ask that families say their goodbyes at the classroom door so our teachers can begin helping students settle into their morning routine. 💜

💜 BEGINNING WEDNESDAY
Starting Wednesday, we will transition to our normal arrival procedures. If you would like to walk your child in, please walk them to the glass entrance doors. A staff member will be there to greet your child, es**rt them to the cafeteria, and help make sure they get where they need to be.
Thank you for helping us create a smooth and successful start to the school year! We appreciate your partnership as we establish routines that help all of our students feel confident, safe, and ready to learn. 🐴💜

⏰ SCHOOL STARTS AT 7:45 AM
Please remember that our school day begins promptly at 7:45 AM.
If your child arrives after 7:45 AM, a parent or guardian must walk them into the office and complete a tardy slip.
For safety and attendance purposes, please do not drop off a tardy student and send them into the building alone. A parent or guardian must accompany them into the office.
Thank you for helping us keep our morning arrival safe, secure, and running smoothly! 💜🖤🐴

🥞🍎 FREE BREAKFAST & LUNCH
Remember, EVERY student receives FREE breakfast and FREE lunch! We encourage our students to take advantage of both.

🚗 PARKING FOR FAMILIES WALKING IN
If you are coming inside the school, please park:
• In the parking lot beside the football field, or
• In designated guest parking.

🚫 Please DO NOT park in the pickup/drop-off line. We need this area to remain clear so traffic can continue moving.
🐴 CAR RIDER PICKUP

If your child is a car rider, please follow the horseshoes through the pickup line.
There will be three staff members stationed along the pickup area:
• One near the purple line
• One in the middle
• One near the flagpole
Please pull forward to the staff member directing you. Your child will be waiting in that area, and our staff will put your child into your vehicle.

For everyone's safety and to keep the line moving:
🚫 Please DO NOT get out of your vehicle in the pickup line.
🚫 Please DO NOT stop in the line to buckle a child into a car seat.
If your child needs assistance being buckled into a car seat, we will place your child safely in the vehicle. You may then pull to the side of the parking lot, park, and buckle them in.
Our goal is to keep the line moving efficiently so that we do not have vehicles backed up or sitting on Highway 281.

🚨 IMPORTANT — AFTERNOON PICKUP TRAFFIC ROUTE
We are asking all families to come straight up the hill by the Community Center for afternoon pickup.
Please DO NOT turn from Highway 281 onto FM 1188 to enter the pickup line.
Instead:
➡️ From Highway 281, turn onto 173 across from the Post Office.
➡️ Follow the road past the Community Center and old Fire Station.
➡️ Continue down the dip.
➡️ You will see where the pickup line begins.
➡️ Follow the line and horseshoes into the school pickup area.

This traffic pattern is very important because we are trying to keep our families off Highway 281 as much as possible and prevent vehicles from backing up onto the highway.

💜 Thank you for helping us keep our Mustangs safe!
The first few days always take a little extra patience as everyone learns the routine. Following these procedures will help us make arrival and dismissal safe, smooth, and efficient for everyone.
We can't wait to see our Mustangs! 🐴💜🖤
