Congratulations to Justin Martin who is starting a new Hayden based small business called Nice Ice. This business will create high quality ice products for the restaurant/bar industry. He won the Hayden Business Pitch Competition last weekend. Finishing 2nd was Caleb Cagle of Sasquatch Party Rentals and 3rd was Emily Danielson of Hayden Hidden Treasures a retail and antique store in downtown Hayden. 11 participants this year competing for $30,000 in total prize money! Enjoyed working with these folks to refine their presentation.

This program is a great tool for entrepreneurs and small business owners. The price is right and the timing works for many folks. Most small business folks have great skills but limited business experience. It takes both to succeed!
Ok, worst job ever? Between sophomore and junior year of college I took a factory job bending small pipe. Same arm motion all day for crappy pay. This is the reason folks go insane. Only lasted a couple of week till something slightly better came up. Frankly, those hard summer jobs were great motivation to excel in college and aspire for a better life. The money earned helped with school and offered a few modest treats during college at Colorado State. Find the lesson during each step in life.
