In consideration of the safety of our students and staff, all schools within the Steamboat Springs School District will be closed on Thursday, January 18. This includes Soda Creek Elementary, Strawberry Park Elementary, Sleeping Giant School, Steamboat Springs Middle School, Steamboat Springs High School, and Yampa Valley High School. North Routt Community Charter School will contact their families with any updates to their operations.

The well-being of our students and staff is our foremost priority, and we believe this decision is essential to ensuring everyone’s safety due to hazardous road conditions in our area. This decision was not made lightly, and we understand this is a rare occurrence for our school district. We appreciate your understanding. Please be safe. We will post any further updates on the school district website and social media channels (Facebook and Instagram).

Weekly Family & Community Update 23-24 SCHOOL YEAR UPDATE

We hope you can make our Family Movie and Resource Night on April 11th at 6:00 PM. We will have speakers from Steamboat Reading, NW Colorado Healthcoverage Guides, and Advocates of Routt County. While your children are enjoying Matila or Encanto, we will have breakout sessions for you to choose from. The topics range from building early literacy skills to managing screen time in older students. We hope to see you there! Thank you to Sleeping Giant School PTIC for your support!
