The Riverheads Athletic Department would like to send out a huge thank you to the dynamic duo of Johnny Wisman and Doug Crabb for all of the volunteer work they have done around our football complex in preparation for the home opener tonight! Fans should notice fresh paint in areas that needed it badly, power washing of bleachers and other areas, and other cleaning and maintenance jobs that these 2 men have spearheaded. They were both too modest for a picture but they can be found around the concession stand area at home football games. Make sure to thank these 2 men and those that have helped them! GO BIG RED!!

Thanks to our most recent athletics windscreen and gym sign sponsor, Justin Toms of J. Toms Construction! We greatly appreciate their support of Riverheads High School Athletics and our student-athletes! These windscreens stay up year round and are viewed by everyone accessing the Riverheads complex for football, baseball, softball, soccer, track, student pick up and drop off, old RES activities, etc. These 8'x2' metal signs stay up year round in our main gym and are viewed by everyone accessing the Riverheads main gym for basketball, volleyball, wrestling, little league, special events such as graduation, etc. Other sponsorship options available as well. Here is imporant game day information for Friday's football home opener! We will also recognize the 2026 inductees into the Red Pride Hall of Fame at half-time. Gates for admission open at 5:30 p.m. and game time is 7:00 p.m. This season we have two gates open for admission (behind the concession stand and entry behind the middle school(old stairs gate). The gate along Don Hanger Circle opposite the scoreboard on the far end of the stadium is no longer being used due to traffic and safety concerns in that area. We encourage as many fans as possible to use the stairs gate entrance behind the middle school as this is the closest entrance to the parking lots at RMS, RES, and RHS instead of walking all the way up to the entrance behind the concession stand. Handicap patrons should use the gate at the concession stand for admission. Admission is $7 per person, age 5 and up. Cash and credit sales are accepted at both gates. Tickets can be purchased in advance through Gofan at the following link: https://gofan.co/event/6869717?schoolId=VA12285
Any spectator that has a valid pass must show their pass at the gate for admission and sign in. The only passes accepted are VHSL, VHSCA, Augusta County, and VIAAA. No animals or pets are allowed inside the gates unless they are trained service animals and being actively used to assist a patron. The areas around the field house and scoreboard/end zone will be roped off and access to these areas will be for game personnel and EMS personnel only. For safety concerns, there will not be any throwing or kicking of balls or playing of other games allowed in these areas or on the track or in the concession stand area. Fans should not bring any outside balls such as footballs, soccer balls, volleyballs, etc. into the stadium as unfortunately we have had some patrons hit with these balls in the past. Parents are reminded that they are responsible for supervision of their children while at the game. As in years past, all Riverheads students and fans should remain on the home side of the field/bleachers and not walk laps through the visitor section. Restrooms are located at the rear of the concession stand and portable facilities will be available on both the home and visitor side of the field this year. We are looking forward to another exciting season of RHS football and encourage our fans to pack the stadium and show your Red Pride!

The Riverheads High School Athletic Department would like to send out a huge thank-you to Joseph, Chapman, and Haze Williams of Williams Brothers Tree & Lawn Service for volunteering their time, equipment, and expertise to replace light bulbs in our football field stadium lights! Joseph and Chapman are both proud RHS alumi and supporters and Haze is a current student at RHS. This is what the saying "Once a Gladiator, Always a Gladiator" truly means! GO BIG RED!!
