Due to overnight temperature drops and lingering moisture on roadways, Iredell-Statesville Schools will operate on a 2-Hour Delay for students and staff on Friday, February 6, 2026. Staff should refer to Inclement Weather Call #5. The delayed start allows for additional daylight, giving our drivers improved visibility as they travel. Please know that we are taking every precaution to ensure students return to school safely.

More meals tomorrow at NB Mills for anyone in the District.

Closed again tomorrow.

With the refreezing overnight and dangerous road conditions, Iredell-Statesville Schools will be closed for students with a remote teacher workday on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. Staff should refer to Inclement Weather Call #13. In addition, N.B. Mills Elementary School will be opening up tomorrow from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to pick up lunch and breakfast for the next day for any Iredell-Statesville Schools students. While students do not have to be present to get their meal, our staff will need the child’s name and the school they attend. Please come to the front entrance of the school, and the staff will guide you.

Also, the I-SS Spelling Bee scheduled for Thursday, February 5th, has been rescheduled for Friday, February 13th.

With the lingering inclement weather and dangerous road conditions, Iredell-Statesville Schools will hold a Remote Learning Day on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, for students with employees teleworking. Staff should refer to Inclement Weather Call #11. In addition, we will be opening up N.B. Mills Elementary School tomorrow from 11:00 to 1:00 to pick up lunch and breakfast for the next day for any Iredell-Statesville Schools students. While students do not have to be present to get their meal, our staff will need the child's name and the school they attend. Please come to the front entrance of the school, and the staff will guide you to the cafeteria.

Also, we would like to remind you that Friday, February 6, 2026, will now be treated as a regular school day, as will the early release day scheduled for February 18th.

As the sun continues to melt some of the accumulation, many back roads, side roads, and our school campuses are still covered with ice. Temperatures are forecast to drop into the single digits throughout the night and refreeze any remaining water.
