What does Baby Root, a toilet, and a cheeseburger have in common?
They are all ceramic audio amplifiers that our WMHS students created in their 3D art class! For an added challenge students tested their sculptures for sound amplifier decibels. Haley L. took 1st place, then Jesse O. 2nd & Archer D. 3rd. Congrats to all of our sculptures for their creative designs!

Tori Ball celebrates her Congressional art contest award winning photograph: Yesteryear's Past--Today's Future.
Tori will be traveling to Washington DC for an awards ceremony honoring all congressional selected artists. Tori's artwork is from Iowa's 4th district with Congressman Randy Feenstra.

HULL, IOWA – Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) congratulated Victoria Ball for winning the 2026 Congressional Art Competition in Iowa’s 4th Congressional District with her artwork titled Yesteryear’s Past —Today’s Future. Victoria is an 8th grader at West Marshall Middle School in State Center, Iowa.

“I am thrilled to announce that Victoria Ball of West Marshall Middle School is the winner of the 2026 Congressional Art Competition for Iowa’s 4th District,” said Rep. Feenstra. “Her piece, Yesteryear’s Past —Today’s Future, beautifully captures Iowa’s rich history and the promise of our agricultural future—two things that make our state so special. I’m grateful to all the talented students who participated and thoroughly enjoyed reviewing their work. I look forward to seeing Victoria’s artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol, where it will serve as a wonderful representation of Iowa’s 4th District for visitors from across the country.”
