The Asian American Research Center at Stanford is now accepting proposals for its 2025 AARCS Seed Grants. These awards of up to $5,000 for graduate students and up to $10,000 for faculty, academic staff, and postdocs support accessible and innovative research advancing scholarship on Asian American and Asian diasporic communities and issues. We welcome proposals from Stanford’s 7 schools: Graduate School of Business, Graduate School of Education, School of Engineering, School of Humanities and Sciences, School of Law, School of Medicine, and Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability.
We seek projects with the likelihood to advance knowledge about Asian American issues and the potential to address societal issue(s) facing Asian Americans. We recognize and welcome applications from the diverse communities often grouped under and with the term, “Asian,” including Central Asian, East Asian, Southeast Asian, South Asian, West Asian, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities. Learn about our 2024 inaugural seed grant recipients on our website.
To apply, submit a 2-3 page proposal and a detailed budget by Monday, 3/23/25, at 11:59 PM PST to [email protected]. The proposal should include a project summary, core research topic, relevance to Asian American/diasporic communities or scholarship, timeline, team members, requested funding amount, and budget. Graduate students must also include their Stanford advisor’s contact and a summary of discussions with their advisor. A bibliography (no length requirement) should be attached at the end.
