The Global Sustainability Challenge, launched by the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability and partner institutions worldwide, invites university students to develop bold solutions in Sustainable Energy and Adaptation & Resilience.

Winners receive cash prizes, global recognition, and an exclusive invitation to Stanford’s EcoGlobal program, including a summer workshop and Fall demo day with sustainability leaders and investors.

What can a job in climate justice look like? How do I find a meaningful career in climate? What steps can I take during my time at Stanford to get there?

Join the Haas Center for Public Service for Paths to Power: Careers in Climate Policy and Public Service, a Stanford Climate Week panel discussion with recent alumni in climate justice careers, each of whom have participated in programs of the Haas Center. RSVP today!

Participants will leave equipped with knowledge of the Haas Center's climate- and environment-oriented internships & fellowships, leadership development offerings, and career support resources -- and with an idea of tangible next steps to prepare you for your own career in climate public service. Muwekma-Tah-Ruk and Explore Energy House invite members of the campus community for dinner and discussion with Native Roots Network, which is devoted to advancing Indigenous-led pathways for just and vibrant communities.

Land restoration, river restoration, and language preservation are among their many pursuits, including development of a Community Resilience Center. Plans for the Center include a Native Plants Garden and a renewable energy microgrid -- one similar to the new microgrid at the O'Donohue Educational Farm.

Join us for this conversation with leading lights for just energy transitions and cultural resilience!

Are you ready to design and launch solutions for the world's biggest health challenges?

Join us at Stanford Emergence ( https://emergence.stanford.edu/ ) where we catalyze entrepreneurship in preventive medicine to improve health and wellbeing. We are now accepting applications for our Student Accelerator Program ( https://emergence.stanford.edu/user/login?destination=/student-accelerator-cohorts ) and our Prevention Medicine & Societal Health Course ( https://emergence.stanford.edu/offerings/prevention-medicine-entrepreneurship-societal-health ).

The Stanford Emergence Student Accelerator Program is an immersive cohort-based journey where you’ll participate in workshops on impact-driven entrepreneurship, receive one-on-one coaching with successful founders and tailored mentorship from industry experts. You’ll also connect with funders and investors, pitch at the Impact Entrepreneurship Summit Demo Day (with eligibility for a seed award), and join a community of mission-driven innovators with ongoing access to the Emergence alumni and partner network. The Stanford Emergence Prevention Medicine & Entrepreneurship for Societal Health course (BIOE 375 / MED 236 / CHPR 275) https://emergence.stanford.edu/offerings/prevention-medicine-entrepreneurship-societal-health gives you hands-on experience with impact entrepreneurship and designing solutions for big societal health challenges . You don’t need to have an idea or a team to apply. You’ll explore the root causes of health challenges sourced from our industry partners, work in cross-disciplinary teams to interview stakeholders, ideate, prototype and test concepts, and engage with founders, impact investors and industry leaders. Upon completing the course, you’ll have options to continue your work through the Emergence Accelerator and receive on-going support. See attached for the course flyer.

Calling all Earth Systems alumni-no matter your graduation year! Join us for this annual gathering to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate our ES community.

As many of you know, Deana retired in 2025. She graciously left behind a treasure trove of Earth Systems memories, including photos from her office featuring ES10 teams and Student Advisor/Peer Advisor groups throughout the years.

We'll have these photos displayed in the lounge for everyone to enjoy. If you spot a photo you'd like to keep, you're welcome to take it home, or simply snap a picture of it. 📸

The collection spans from the early days of Earth Systems in 1992 through 2023/2024 - a wonderful look back at the people and memories that have shaped our program.
