Latin American Studies (LAS) program at Macalester College.

The Latin American Studies (LAS) program at Macalester College thrives at the intersections of social science, the humanities, and the arts, and values scholarly, testimonial, and creative work by Latin American writers and artists. LAS provides a vibrant forum in which students can develop core skills in language, communication (written, oral, and visual), argument, comparison, theory, research design, and civic engagement.

Join us in the Smail Gallery (located in OLRI) TUESDAY, September 9th from 5:30 - 8:30 pm for our Fall Open House! Come learn about the Latin American Studies Program and meet some of our lovely faculty while enjoying Ecuadorian and Argentine cuisine!

We will ALSO be screening the final qualifying rounds of the FIFA WORLD CUP matches for CONMEBOL⚽️. Ecuador VS. Argentina kickoff is at 6:00pm and the five other matches begin at 6:30pm. EVERYONE IS WELCOME, WE’D LOVE TO SEE YOU THERE!! Feel free to rep your teams colors and show off your team spirit 😌
