Webster Groves Family and Friends (WGFF) was created by a group of friends primarily from the 1979 graduating class of Webster Groves High School, Webster Groves, MO. WGFF was a group of friends that shared a memorable history of growing up in the Webster Groves and Rock Hill community. In the summer of 2007, WGFF hosted what was to be the first Webster Groves Family and Friends All Class Reunion. Classmates, along with their family and friends from all graduating classes of Webster Groves High School were invited to share in a day of celebration for our community, reflection and good old fashion fun. Since that year, the reunions have continued each summer at the same location of Deer Creek Park in Maplewood, MO. Each year the attendance has continued to grow and appears to be an established tradition that is looked forward to by alumni that are still living in the St. Louis Metropolitan area as well as those who have relocated throughout the country. Through the years with the growth of the organization, the WGFF decided to do more than just gather each summer for a great class reunion. In 2014, the WGFF began working with the Webster Groves High School Challenge Program to establish and award the first WGFF Scholarship to a graduating senior from Webster Groves High School. This monetary scholarship was created through donations from alumni and others in the community. The Challenge Program is an enrichment group sponsored by the Webster Groves High School that encourages and facilitates students desiring to pursue higher education upon their graduation from High School. In 2015, the WGFF awarded 5 scholarships to graduating seniors of Webster Groves High School at the Annual All Class Reunion. In November of 2015, the Webster Groves Family and Friends became incorporated and received 501c(3) status and is now classified as a non-profit organization. The WGFF is in the process of developing a mentoring program for students at the Webster Groves High School. We have participated in community food pantry drives and is working with other local service groups in an effort to strengthen our community. Although the WGFF started out as a group of friends getting together to reminisce about the good old days, it has become an organization with a strong desire to give back to a great community that gave so much to them years ago.
