Congratulations to Jaclyn Whalen, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and member of Dr. Angel Baldan's lab, on receiving the Early Career Investigator Travel Award.

The award recognizes outstanding research in lipid and lipoprotein science and provided support for Jaclyn to attend the Kern Lipid Conference in Breckenridge, Colorado.

Jaclyn's research explores age-related differences in atherosclerosis development. At the conference, she connected with leading researchers, learned about the latest advances in the field, and expanded her professional network. This recognition highlights her dedication to research and contributions to advancing our understanding of cardiovascular disease.

Niki Saxena, M.D., (Med ’93) came to SLU seeking high-quality clinical training rooted in service and social justice. She left with lifelong friendships, a passion for pediatrics and the foundation for a career dedicated to caring for children and families.
