In collaboration with the St. Louis City Office of Violence Prevention and Integrated Health Network (IHN)’s Re-Link and Community Referral Coordinator teams, our Mobile Health Clinic provides individuals recently released from incarceration connections to primary care medical homes, urgent specialty care, and substance use disorder treatment. This is just one example of the impact and value of in improving health outcomes across our community.

SLU SOM Elise Alspach, Ph.D., assistant professor of molecular microbiology and immunology studies how biological s*x shapes T-cell responses to cancer. Her team showed that CXCL13, a protein linked to strong immunotherapy response, is expressed at higher levels—and is a more reliable biomarker— in females. Their findings, published in Cancer Immunology Research, advance more personalized approaches to cancer immunotherapy.
