Fly Up Morning on 5/21

As we begin preparing for the 2026–2027 school year, we know many students (and parents!) start wondering over the summer: Who will my teacher be? Who will be in my class? To help ease those questions and build excitement for next year, we will once again hold a Fly-Up Morning on Thursday, May 21.

During Fly-Up Morning, students will visit and meet their teacher for the 2026–2027 school year and spend time getting to know the classmates who will make up their classroom community. This gives students an opportunity to make connections, see their future classroom environment, and head into summer feeling excited and confident about the upcoming school year.

Please know that class lists are created very thoughtfully and intentionally. Our classroom placement process includes input from teachers, specialists, counselors, administrators, and parent information shared with the school. We spend a great deal of time reviewing academic, social, and emotional factors to create balanced classroom communities that best support all students.

It is also important to remember that students continue to have many opportunities to connect with peers across their grade level throughout the school year. Grade-level recesses, field trips, and schoolwide activities allow students to build friendships and relationships beyond their individual classroom.

We are excited for students to meet their new teacher and begin looking ahead to another great year at Bristol Elementary!
