In ELA, we wrapped up our unit on The Middle Ages in Europe. This week, we partner read, wrote opinion pieces and peer revised and edited. We celebrated with Robin Hood, Bloxels, crowns 👑 and shields 🛡️.

School Wide Celebration

In Math, Mrs. Augustine (instructional coach) came into our classroom to show us a new game using multiples. Students were eager to learn and participate.

In ELA, students partner read about knights. Last week, we began our new unit on The Middle Ages.

In Social Studies, students researched, created posters and presented about early civilizations in North America.

Congratulations to our September Student of the Month- Respect.

Congratulations to our August Student of the Month - Kindness.

We met with our 1st grade buddies for the first time. Students participated in an outdoor scavenger hunt and interviewed their buddy.

We celebrated the end of our ELA Unit. Students shared their Personal Narratives and played Candy Land. We learned the creator of the game also had polio like the author in the memoir we read. She created the game for other patients to play while they were in recovery.

In Social Studies, students wrapped up our geography unit by creating physical maps of mountains and bodies of water with Play-Doh. 🗺️

In ELA, we read a story about a girl with polio who learned to play the accordion to strengthen her arms. We had a guest accordion player who shared some special music with us. 🪗

Last week, students checked out books from the bookmobile. 📚
