Over 20 years ago, we studied a new (at the time) concept called Grow Your Own Teachers in Fort Zumwalt School District. Today, they have raised over $500,000 to provide financial assistance to people with dreams of become teachers! Here are some of the original folks who got it all started! Dr. DuBray, Dr. Jackie Floyd, Dr. Henry St. Pierre, Mike Swaringim. And around me - one of our FIRST Grow Your Own Teachers Kelsie Kesler Ballman and her mom! It was so good to celebrate with you all today, and all your new Grow Your Own Teachers.

Step 1 - Plan first
Step 2 - Be clear about the outcome (and stay on track)
Step 3 - HAVE the conversation!

It is only then, that you can actually move forward!

We finished our series of trainings last week. These groups of support leaders were AMAZING! Don't ever underestimate the power of your classified staff and support departments. WE WOULD NOT HAVE SCHOOL without them!!! Thanks Cooperating School Districts of Greater Kansas City for bringing all these folks together! I'm going to miss you!
