was a great success! Our alumni are out in the field applying their research to real problems, tackling economic, social, human, and environmental challenges that matter. That's the power of DBA training. It creates scholar-practitioners who stay engaged, stay connected, and keep pushing their fields forward long after commencement!

Congratulations to Dr. Don Seitz on a successful dissertation defense! Don’s research “Commission Impossible: Real Estate Agents and the Struggle to Free the 6% from the Iron Cage” examines the persistence of standardized real estate commission structures through the lens of institutional theory, situating its analysis against the landmark 2024 NAR settlement. The central finding is that practitioners do not passively conform to regulatory change but actively adapt institutional pressures to their own advantage.
