On Thursday, our VBS kids heard the incredible news that changed the world forever - Jesus rose from the dead! ✝

We talked about what the women found when they came to the tomb, what the angels told them and how the women joyfully shared the good news that Jesus was alive. The empty tomb reminded us that Jesus kept His promise and defeated sin and death for us.

Our Take-Home Point was: God finds me when I think there's no hope.

When life feels difficult and we are tempted to feel hopeless or sad, we can remember that Jesus died and rose again just as He said He would. Because He lives, we have hope - today and forever! 💛

Yesterday, our VBS adventurers learned about Zacchaeus, the tax collector who was lost in sin but found by Jesus. We talked about how Zacchaeus took more money than he was supposed to and kept it for himself, how Jesus called him down from the tree and chose to spend time with him, and how a changed heart led Zacchaeus to make things right. ✝🌳

Most importantly, we learned that Jesus came to fix our sin problem by dying on the cross and rising again so that we can be forgiven and made new.

Our take-home point was - God finds me when I am lost. No matter where we are or what we've done, God's love seeks us out and brings us back to Him. What an amazing reminder! 💛

Day 2 of VBS was spent learning about Ruth and Naomi, and how God cares for us when we feel alone.

We talked about the sad losses Naomi experienced, Ruth's faithful promise to stay by her side -"Where you go, I will go"- and how God blessed them with a new family. We also discovered that many years later, Jesus was born from their family line!

Our take-home point for the day was: "God finds me when I am lonely." Just as God provided love, friendship and hope for Ruth and Naomi, He is always with us and cares for us, too. ✝💛

Yesterday during VBS, we learned about how God protected and saved baby Moses. Our campers discovered how Moses' mother kept him safe, how the princess of Egypt found and cared for him, and how God used Moses in a powerful way as he grew up.
Most importantly, we talked about how Jesus saves us from our greatest trouble - sin - by dying on the cross and rising again for us.
Our Day 1 take-home point was: "God finds me when I have troubles." No matter what challenges we face, we can trust that God sees us, loves us and is always with us. ✝🌴

Students, age 3 (potty-trained) through those entering 5th grade in the fall are invited to join us for lots of fun on our TROPICAL TREK, learning how Jesus comes to seek and save us. 🌴✝

We'll hear Bible stories, learn and sing some new songs, make some crafts, and play some games. We hope you will join us for this week of fun to start off your summer!

Salem Lutheran Church & School is partnering up with Salem's Men's Club once again for our 2nd annual Parking Lot Sale! 💲🛍🚗

The sale will begin at 10:00am on Saturday, June 13th. The Men's Club will also be selling their famous BBQ for all to enjoy! 🍴

The Parking Lot Sale is open to the public - anyone can sign up to sell. It is $20 to rent a spot and $5 to rent a table. If you need more than one spot or more than one table please add that to you payment order. Setup will be 8:00am to 9:50am. Tents are allowed.

If you have a craft to sell or just need to declutter the basement this event is for you! Proceeds from this event will go towards Salem's Fall Festival. 🎃🍂

Last week, our amazing 4th graders wrapped up their unit on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in the sweetest way possible! They invented their very own cereal inspired by the book, enjoyed a sweets-filled feast, and ended the celebration by watching the movie together. From chocolate rivers to fizzy lifting flavors, their creativity and imagination were absolutely magical!

Congratulations to our Salem Alumni who recently celebrated a huge milestone - graduating from Lutheran South! We are so proud of our Wildcat Alums—Class of 2022! We cannot wait to see what your next adventure brings! 💛🎓🖤🎓
