👀 LOOK!! The official countdown is on! Preliminary site-work has begun at the National Memorial of Military Ascents future home located at 950 E. Main St in Grafton, IL where the Grafton Visitor Center and Edward Amburg history museum is open daily 10-4pm. Next year on 6 June 2026 we will dedicate the 12 life-sized bronze sculptures representing the U.S. Army Rangers scaling the Pointe du hoc cliffs on 6 June 1944 during the initial DDAY landings. WWII Weekend 2025 is a wrap. Thanks to all who came out this weekend despite the weather and made it such a success! We especially want to thank Buddy Russel, mayor of Hillsboro, as well as the Jefferson County Fairgrounds and Hillsboro Community Civic Club for the incredible hospitality the city has shown us in our relocation here. We also want to thank the Gateway City Big Band for coming out and playing some incredible tunes for us. Finally, thanks to all the reenactors and volunteers who made the trek out here and put on a good show for the crowd.
2025 is in the books, and we’ll be meeting in the coming weeks to discuss plans for next year’s event. See you at the fairgrounds in 2026!
