Greece & Turkey – European & Asian Adventure

Sarah Heap, 1st Grade Teacher at Mesnier Primary School, along with Ben H. (Gotsch Intermediate School 3rd grader) and their family, took an unforgettable trip abroad this summer! Their journey began in Athens, Greece, where they climbed the Acropolis, took in views of the Parthenon, ran the track at the Panathenaic Stadium, enjoyed a live performance in Greek at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, and explored local museums.

Next, they soaked up the island beauty of Santorini—taking in stunning ocean sunsets, iconic blue domes, beautiful beaches, and fresh seafood. Their grand final stop was Istanbul, Turkey, where they visited historic landmarks like the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Galata Tower, and the Basilica Cistern, rode a ferry across the Bosphorus Strait to Asia, and enjoyed plenty of Turkish tea, shopping, and Turkish Delights! 🏛️✈️🌊

Grayton Beach, Florida – Beachside Bliss & Family Fun

Jaxon M. (Rogers Middle School 8th grader) and Sky M. (Gotsch Intermediate 3rd grader) soaked up the sun during a beautiful week at Grayton Beach in Florida! Their family made the most of their summer getaway, spending quality time together by the ocean and creating wonderful memories along the emerald coast. 🏖️☀️

Tenkiller Lake & Tulsa – Oklahoma Adventures

Elliott S. (Gotsch Intermediate School 4th grader) and Riley S. (Mesnier Primary School 1st grader) took on Oklahoma for an incredible summer getaway! The family started their trip by visiting relatives at Tenkiller Lake, soaking in quality family time by the water. They then headed to Tulsa to explore the beautiful Gathering Place Park and take in the culture at the Philbrook Museum of Art. What a wonderful mix of family, nature, and inspiration!

Maine & Canada – Coastal Trails, Wildlife & Historical Exploration

Liz Bauer, kindergarten teacher at Mesnier Primary School, spent her summer enjoying an incredible northern adventure exploring, hiking, beachcombing, and spotting amazing wildlife across Maine and New Brunswick, Canada! Her trip included hiking over 10 miles of trails in Acadia National Park, taking in breathtaking views at Cadillac Mountain, Schoodic Point, Thunder Hole, and Mount Desert Island, and even stopping by Maine’s oldest bookstore for some fresh summer reads. She traveled to the easternmost point of the United States and crossed into Canada to visit FDR’s summer cottage at Roosevelt Campobello International Park on Campobello Island.

A total dream for an animal lover, her trip featured sightings of seals, porpoises, loons, peregrine falcons, common mergansers, lion’s mane jellyfish, and beaver activity! What a scenic and memorable summer getaway!

🎒 Our friends at Affton Elks Lodge #2635 are helping our students get ready for a great school year!

They are hosting a Free Back to School Backpack Giveaway on Saturday, August 1, from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM (while supplies last). Each elementary school backpack comes packed with 22 pieces of essential school supplies to help our young learners succeed! ✏️📓

Michigan & Chicago – Lakeside Beaches, Biking & Kaiju Fun

Clark J. (Rogers Middle School 6th grader) and Wally J. (Gotsch Intermediate 3rd grader) hit the road with their family for an action-packed Michigan road trip! They spent their summer days biking and beaching in favorite lakeside towns including Traverse City, Ludington, Grand Haven, South Haven, and Pentwater. Highlight moments included biking out to Big Sable Lighthouse and relaxing at Point Betsie Lighthouse Park. To top it all off, they made a special pit stop in Chicago so Clark could attend G-Fest, one of the largest Kaiju conventions in the world! What a fun-filled summer adventure!

St. Louis, Missouri – Cardinals Baseball Fun

Ben J. (Mesnier Primary School 2nd grader) and Josh J. (incoming kindergartner) enjoyed cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals with their family this summer! Josh especially loved taking a break in the sensory room, helping make the ballpark experience fun and accessible for everyone. Nothing beats a summer afternoon at Busch Stadium making memories together!

Dauphin Island, Alabama – Beachside Adventures & Exploring

Atticus Z. (Gotsch Intermediate School 4th grader) and Vivienne Z. (Mesnier Primary School kindergartener) traded the school halls for some coastal fun on Dauphin Island, Alabama! The duo spent an amazing week making the most of the coast—playing in the water, hunting for crabs, playing putt-putt golf, and visiting the local aquarium. It was a sun-soaked week filled with endless smiles and plenty of family adventures!
