In the Webster Groves School District, our strength has always come from our people and our proud tradition of supporting strong public schools. That shared commitment has shaped generations of students and continues to guide us today.
Right now, we are at an important and challenging crossroads. Like many school districts, we are experiencing rising costs and financial pressures that we can no longer absorb within our current budget. Simply put, we cannot continue operating as we are today without making significant changes.
These decisions are not easy and will directly impact our students, staff and programs. Before any path is chosen, it is critical that we hear from you.
We invite you to join us for a meeting and discussion on June 3, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m at Webster Groves High School. During this session, we will share more about the district’s financial outlook, answer questions and listen to your feedback. We will also discuss district priorities as part of the conversation about what comes next.
This event is open to any resident in the community. Pizza and snacks will be provided.

Shoutout to Ms. Hannel's art students for making these amazing totem poles! They built boxes focusing on surface design with additive and subtractive techniques. It was a great way to get students to build their skills in clay and also make a nice sculpture for our Sustainability Garden!🎨

Today we welcomed all of our future Jr. Statesmen as 5th graders from our elementary schools came to Hixson Middle School for a tour led by our amazing Student Council volunteers! Students got to explore the building, meet staff and students, and take part in fun carnival-style games throughout the day. It was a great chance for them to get comfortable with middle school and see all the opportunities waiting for them next year. We loved having them here and can’t wait to see them back in the halls as HXMS students next year!

We are so happy to announce that Hixson Middle School's Kindness Crew has been selected by Character.org as a 2026 Promising Practice under the leadership of Mrs. Sarah Bodi and Mrs. Emily Bardot (Hixson Counselors)! This recognition highlights the meaningful impact of their work and its alignment with one or more of Character.org's 11 Principles Framework for Schools.
The Promising Practices recognition honors creative and effective efforts that promote “goodness in action”. Kindness Crew's intentional actions have contributed to a positive school culture by strengthening relationships, spreading joy amongst students, staff, and parents, and bringing positive character to life within our school community.
Thank you to Mrs. Bodi and Mrs. Bardot for establishing the Kindness Crew this year, and for showing everyone what we mean when we say, "School culture is EVERYONE'S responsibility!"

As we head into the last week of school, a quick look back to last week.
Hixson students participated in a spirit week and Friday was Dress Like a Teacher Day. These 6th graders decided to dress like a principal…walkies and all!
