We have some exciting student news to celebrate! 🎉🎻

Three Gateway Music Outreach musicians recently completed competitive auditions and earned positions in outstanding youth orchestras:

Toran Price, violin — Young People’s Concert Orchestra at Webster University Community Music School

Avery Ray, double bass — St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra

Sabrina Bush, double bass — Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra at Webster University Community Music School

We are incredibly proud of the work these young musicians continue to put into developing their craft. Opportunities like these give students the chance to grow, perform at a higher level and learn alongside other talented young musicians throughout our region.

Congratulations, Toran, Avery and Sabrina! Keep growing and keep making music. 🎶👏🏽

🎉 Celebrating 10 Years of Opening Doors Through Music 🎻

As Gateway Music Outreach enters its 10th Anniversary milestone season, we’re taking time to reflect on an incredible journey that began with one simple belief:

Every young person deserves the opportunity to experience the life-changing power of music.

Over the past decade, we’ve watched students grow into confident musicians, courageous leaders, and compassionate young adults. We’ve celebrated first performances, college acceptances, scholarships, and countless moments that remind us why this work matters.

None of this would have been possible without an amazing community.

To every student, parent, instructor, volunteer, donor, partner, and supporter—thank you. Your belief in our mission has helped open doors that continue to change lives.

While we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished together, we’re even more excited about what’s ahead.

This anniversary isn’t just a celebration of the past.

It’s the beginning of our next chapter.

Here’s to 10 Years of Opening Doors Through Music—and to the thousands of young people whose stories are still waiting to be written.

Thank you for being part of the journey. ❤️

Before the music comes the community. ❤️🎻

Our musicians started Week 1 of Jazz Camp for Strings 2026 with team-building activities designed to build trust, confidence, leadership, and friendships. The laughter was loud, the energy was contagious, and the memories are already being made.

This is only the beginning…

🎹✨ What a beautiful way to close another incredible year of music-making!

We are so proud of every student who performed at the Gateway Music Outreach Piano Recital. Their hard work, growth, confidence, and dedication were on full display, and it was a joy to celebrate their accomplishments with family and friends.

A special thank you goes to our amazing piano instructor,Sherry Lewis Jones, whose patience, passion, and commitment continue to inspire our students year after year. Behind every performance is a teacher who believes in her students, and Mrs. Jones is truly one of the heroes of our program.

As this recital concludes another successful year of impactful music education, we are reminded that music does more than teach notes and rhythms—it builds confidence, discipline, creativity, and lifelong memories.

Have a happy and safe summer.
