It’s incredible how one person, one interaction can lead to the discovery of something new in your life.

Teaching helped me realize how much we know and how uniquely positioned we are to help aspiring or newer mother agents the art of model development and management, specifically focused on high fashion, editorial, and luxury beauty brands.

If you are already working in this industry — scouting, mother agenting, managing young talent — and you know you are missing pieces, this is for you.

If you have the passion and the eye but not the framework — not the contracts, not the agency relationships, not the process that holds it all together — this is for you.

I never could have anticipated how rewarding it would be to mentor aspiring mother agents as they grow and navigate in the model business.

We have always operated with three things in mind:
1. Providing excellence in supporting, developing and caring for the models best interest.
2. Focusing our development and management on the high fashion clients and agencies worldwide.
3. Building a unique and thriving community for our models and their families.
It takes a village.

We have more initiatives in the works, but we are starting with this first. The Model Business Mentorship.

There has never been a place you can learn this business the way we learned it.
Not from a textbook. Not from a weekend workshop. From early 30 years of doing it, discovering Karlie Kloss, Ashton Kutcher, Grace Hartzel, and over 200 others who went on to international careers.

The Model Business by Mother is a 6-month live mentorship — six to twelve people maximum — built for agents, scouts, and mother agents who are ready to do this properly.

Decades ago, I was a young single mom in Iowa with a passion for fashion and absolutely no roadmap.

Nobody teaches you this business. You learn it in the trenches through missed placements, hard conversations, and years of figuring out what nobody was willing to share.

We built Mother anyway. We’ve placed over 200 models internationally. Seventy have walked the top runways in the world.

I’ve spent a long time thinking about how to pass this on. Not a course. Not a class.
