🎨✨ Supporting Creativity at Kennedy Middle School! ✨🎨

The Lake Shore Foundation for Educational Excellence (LSFEE) is proud to award a $1,600 grant to the Kennedy Middle School Art Department for the purchase of a class set of rechargeable light boards, a charging cart, and USB charging stations.

These tools will help students transfer their original sketches onto final artwork, allowing them to focus on refining their artistic skills while building confidence in the creative process.

Did you know? Tracing in artwork can:
🖌️ Develop fine motor skills
👀 Improve hand-eye coordination
📏 Strengthen the ability to create controlled, smooth lines
💡 Increase student confidence and reduce stress when creating art

Students spend time developing rough drafts and original designs in their sketchbooks. By using light boards to transfer their own artwork to final paper, young artists can preserve their ideas, feel more successful, and stay motivated to continue exploring their creativity.

At LSFEE, we believe every student deserves access to tools and experiences that inspire learning, creativity, and growth. We're excited to support the next generation of artists at Kennedy Middle School!

The Lake Shore Foundation for Educational Excellence (LSFEE) is proud to award a $2,000 grant to support the creation of a new 8th Grade Classroom Library at Kennedy Middle School!

This grant will enable the teacher to establish a well-organized, student-centered classroom library complete with an efficient check-out system, making it easier than ever for students to discover and access books that spark their interests.

Research consistently demonstrates that access to books within the classroom—not just the school library—is one of the most powerful predictors of reading engagement, particularly for middle school students. By putting books directly into students' hands, we're helping foster a lifelong love of reading while supporting academic success.

📖 Every student deserves access to engaging, high-quality reading materials, and we're excited to help make that possible for Kennedy Middle School students.
