The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) is an “alternative certification program,” as defined by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), which allows students to obtain their teaching certificate AND a master’s degree in the same program. This program is designed to enable students considering a mid-life career change to pursue certification in an area of secondary education similar to their undergraduate degree program or work experience.

Position Job Summary:

5th and 6th Grade Elementary Teacher with Science Emphasis
Description: Full-time 10 month contracted 5TH/6TH Grade Teacher-Emphasis in Science. Position begins in August 2013.
Compensation and Benefits: Salary range is $23,410 to $30,330 depending on credentials and experience. If a full-time contract is offered, the position would include a medical insurance package plus a 50% discount in tuition for your own qualifying student to attend New Covenant Academy.

4 th Grade Elementary Teacher
Description: Full-time 10 month contracted 4th Grade Teacher. Position begins in August 2013.
Compensation and Benefits: Salary range is $23,410 to $30,330 depending on credentials and experience. If a full-time contract is offered, the position would include a medical insurance package plus a 50% discount in tuition for your own qualifying student to attend New Covenant Academy. This position is open due to the enrollment growth of the elementary dept, we are adding a second 4th grade section.

K-12 Physical Education Teacher Description: Full-time 10 month contracted K-12 Physical Education Teacher. Position begins in August 2013.
Compensation and Benefits: Salary range is $23,410 to $30,330 depending on credentials and experience. If a full-time contract is offered, the position would include a medical insurance package plus a 50% discount in tuition for your own qualifying student to attend New Covenant Academy.

Music Teacher 2 Part-time K-4 th Vocal Music OR 6-12th Grade Band.
Description: New Covenant Academy is seeking two qualified part-time teaching candidates for its music program for the fall 2013-2014. (For the right person, this could be one full-time position) for Elementary Vocal Music grades Kindergarten through 4th grade and Instrumental Music-Band grades 6-12. At this time the fall schedule in unknown. Preferred candidates will have the appropriate certification in music education, as well as experience in performing arts, the ability to prepare students for concerts and for the upper grade band teacher---
proficient understanding of MSHSAA competition and general music competition requirements.
Compensation and Benefits: Part-time salary is a pro-ration of the full-time teacher salary schedule based on hours worked. If a full-time contract is offered, Salary range for a FT 10 month contracted teacher is $23,410 to $30,330 depending on credentials and experience. If a full-time contract is offered, the position would include a medical insurance package plus a 50% discount in tuition for your own qualifying student to attend New Covenant Academy. (Note: Medical insurance is not offered for part-time employees. However a pro-rated tuition discount
for your own qualifying student to attend NCA would be a pro-rated discount based on hours worked.)

Middle School English Teacher Description: Full-time 10 month contracted Middle School English Teacher. Position begins in August 2013.
Compensation and Benefits: FT 10 month contracted teacher is $23,410 to $30,330 depending on credentials and experience. If a full-time contract is offered, the position would include a medical insurance package plus a 50% discount in tuition for your own qualifying student to attend New Covenant Academy.

High School Girls Basketball Coach Position Description: This is a seasonal, part-time position. Candidate must have a minimum of 60 college credit hours
and willing to work with the Athletic Director to become MSHSAA approved. High degree of integrity. Strong leadership and communication skills. Must have the ability to work well with adolescent students and their families; with the ability and maturity to encourage positive growth in all areas socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually.
Compensation and Benefits: Salary for the contracted season Nov. 2013 to March 2014 is approximately $3,000. Working hours are according to the practice and game schedule. There are no benefits associated with this position. Note: If a candidate accepts a teaching position in another area of the school, this position can be added as additional duties.

High School Girls Volleyball Coach Position Description: This is a seasonal, part-time position. Candidate must have a minimum of 60 college credit hours and willing to work with the Athletic Director to become MSHSAA approved. High degree of integrity. Strong leadership and communication skills. Must have the ability to work well with adolescent students and their
families; with the ability and maturity to encourage positive growth in all areas socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Compensation and Benefits: Salary for the contracted season Aug. 2013 to May 2014 is approximately $3,700. Working hours are according to the practice and game schedule. There are no benefits associated with this position. Note: If a candidate accepts a teaching position at NCA in another area of the school, this position may be added as additional duties.
