If your child wants to try out for basketball, they have to have a physical on file with our athletic director, Ms. Prince.

Make Up Picture Day is on Thursday of this week!! Start practicing showing those pearly whites!

Let me introduce you to the Unsung Heroes of Overhills Middle School, the Overhills Middle School Cheerleaders. They show all the athleticism of all of the other sports. Aum'Unique Reid, 7th grader, states that it's intense but we are motivating our Panthers. Our purpose is to be there supporting our team. We also have a lot of fun. So even though there are no points, we cheer for our Panther cheerleaders!! They are the best!

Tomorrow and Thursday are test days!! Make sure your child is well rested and has a good breakfast each morning. Send good wishes to our Panthers!

The yearbook club is busy getting fall sports done for the school year. Right now the cost is $30. It is the lowest price of the year. On November 1st the price goes up to $35. Orange you glad tomorrow is Wednesday? It is time to wear orange for Anti-Bullying Day. An added benefit is that if you wear orange, you get a dollar off our awesome football game at 4:00. What a deal!!!! Looking forward to seeing a lot of orange tomorrow.

If you are not familiar with drama, you need to attend our Panther volleyball games. The drama is real and the emotion is a roller coaster. Damiah Bell, 8th grade volleyball pro, says the games are intense. Our Panther girls are tough. Sometimes the calls don't go our way and sometimes they do. Tonight was a tough game but our girls hung in there. Imauri Clark said the victories felt so good. Today was not their day, but their day is coming!! Keep Pounding, Girls!

The boys soccer season has been inspiring and fun to watch. Today our Panthers took on the Shughart Blackhawks. It was a battle. Gavin MItsada, 7th grader soccer player, stated that the victory felt good but it was painful. Our boys fought. And they won the match 5 - 2. Great job, Panthers!

Homecoming is this week!!!! Do you know what you are wearing this week? I do. Tomorrow is Panther Pride Day!! Let's see a crowd of black, grey and blue. And add a crazy hat to your outfit. The boys soccer game and girls volleyball game is tomorrow at 4:00. What a way to start this week!

"Expectations Achieved!" succinctly said by 8th grader, Mikah Latimore, of today's game. The Panthers soundly defeated Harnett Central Middle School 24 to 8. The offense was on fire and the defense effectively held the Trojans at bay. It was an exciting game. Last home game is next week! We are so proud of our Panthers and wish this season would go on.
