This little girl is a natural performer! Watch until the end! This video is from the Piano Prep Academy's Winter 2025 recital, and the first performance by a 5 year old student. She did so well, and her smile at the end was infectious!

We wrapped up our winter/spring and summer lessons with a fantastic recital! Everyone did such a wonderful job and it was fun to celebrate everyone's progress!

We will start the fall semester on July 29th and finish on December 18th. There will be 18 lessons with 3 weeks off.

Fall/Christmas recital 2023! Eight of the students were new to performing, but all did an amazing job! It’s been a joy and privilege to teach each of these students; their hard work definitely showed in their performances! We had a fun reception afterward to celebrate!

Selections from the Piano Prep Academy’s Spring Recital!

The Piano Prep Academy holds two recitals a year. One is in May/June and the other is in November/December.

Learning to perform in front of an audience is an important skill for all students! We think of it as a "celebration" to showcase all of the hard work the students have put in!

I wanted to take a moment to introduce the pianos in my studio!

First of all, my Kawai grand! I sold my first upright to buy this baby grand. The piano was kept at an elderly lady's home. When I got it, it even had some sparkles on it from the Christmas ornaments that it was decorated with! This piano is now played a lot - by myself and my students!

My newest piano is my Yamaha upright! This piano is my "upstairs" piano. I primarily teach beginning students on this piano. My Yamaha has a fun past - Jerry Lee Lewis and a few other performers played on it!

Welcome to The Piano Prep Academy!

I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Gretchen Mayer-Yeh. I recently moved my studio from Nashville to Spring Hill, TN and have openings for new students!

I hold my MM in Performance from Butler University's Jordan College of the Arts, and I have my BM in Keyboard Pedagogy from Cedarville University.

With 13+ years of experience, I've taught at piano prep schools, independent studios, and maintained my own private studio. I am known for my ability to cater lessons to each specific student. I'm passionate about inspiring students to love music and to practice through quality instruction and materials.

In addition to teaching, I have accompanied both instrumentalists and vocalists for 13+ years at various universities including Cedarville University, Butler University, Belmont University, and others. I have experience playing as a soloist and as part of ensembles for numerous events.
