I am posting here so you can choose how/when/if to talk to your campers.

I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Cancer a few weeks ago. It was only after 3 days of a slight cough and 1 day of a little shortness of breath. It is shocking what little things can lead to finding such big things.

I have already started Chemo and go for my second round this Wednesday. I’m on oxygen and using a walker right now. We are hoping things may get better with more Chemo and testing they continue to administer. My plan is to be at camp definitely not moving around as normal. I love Firewheel Twilight Camp, the Staff, the Program Aides and most definitely our campers! ❤️

If you have not used ActiveNet before to register for an event:
1. You will enter your email address
2. Select “Forgot Password”
3. Then create new password

As a Troop Leader, ActiveNet should have all your troop girls listed.

I have attached screenshots of what you will see once you get to the Day/Twilight Camp registration in ActiveNet.

You can choose from the following:

1. Adult Volunteer (Free) - Unit Leaders and Staff

2. Camp Aide ($30) - Those that are current 6th Graders (7th in the Fall) through 12th graders. They are typically called Program Aides. These girls that lead the campers at all the different stations at camp working with adult mentors.

3. Camper ($70) - Those that are entering Kindergarten through 6th grade in the Fall.

4. Tagalong Boy ($30) - These are ONLY boys that are children of Camp Adult Volunteers (3 to 13 years old - must be potty trained)

5. Tagalong Girl ($30) - These are ONLY girls that are children of Camp Adult Volunteers (3 to 5 years old - must be potty trained). If they are entering Kindergarten in the Fall they must be registered as a Camper.

TIME FOR ADULT RECOGNITION

This also applies to our Day/Twilight Camp teams, amazing GSNETX staff, council level teams, troop leaders, cookie managers & volunteers!

It is time to take a moment and recognize each and every one of you for your time and commitment to your troop, service unit and Girl Scouts. From troop leaders to cookie managers to service unit team members you all deserve to be recognized. While the deadline is February 28th with cookie season the time will go fast.

GSNETX has a formal recognition program that is easy to use to nominate those who work with you and even yourself. I know that you volunteer time and energy because you believe in the program and not for recognition. It is a good thing to be recognized and to show appreciation for others.

http://www.gsnetx.org/nominate is the link to use to nominate volunteers in your troop and service unit. There is a link on the form to show all the awards and more information. Girls can nominate troop leaders and troop cookie managers. The words of girls and daughters is amazing acknowledgement of the impact you make on their lives. You don’t need to know what the award is the person is eligible for you just choose the category you are nominating them for.

There are some training requirements for each level as well as enrichment training, if you have questions please ask me. The one mandatory training that often gets forgotten is TR402 Protecting our Girls. It has to be renewed every 2 years. If you haven’t renewed or taken TR402 please do so. You will find the training on your MyGS that can be accessed through www.gsnetx.org.

We had a great time at GSNETX Campsgiving today at the STEM Center of Excellence!

Most of the Day and Twilight Camps were there and all our camp properties!
