Spokane Mudhens 16u

This is my last post on the 16u Mudhens page, then I'm passing the torch to Buzz Hecker. In case you didn't here, our 16u Mudhens took 3rd place at Western B Nationals. Our losses to the Spokane Scream and Coeur d'alene Crush were close and devestating. We had a good season and finished strong.
I'm proud of the girls and wish them tons of luck in their Mudhen future or wherever else they end up.

Another victory in the books. We won an extra inning battle versus the Lakesiders today 6-5.
Next is a rematch with the Spokane Scream at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow at Merkel fields.
If we win that one, we are in the championship. If we lose, we are playing through the losers bracket. Onward & upward! GO MUDHENS! ! !

Another game and more of the same! The Spokane Mudhens 16u softball team won again this afternoon behind solid pitching, great defense and clutch hitting to boot! The girls turned 3 more double plays in the game bringing their total to 7 on the day.
Next up for the girls is a 12:00 game tomorrow against the Lakesiders or Diamonds. It should be fun.
If we win, we are done until Saturday, if we lose, we play again at 4:00.
We are playing some of our best ball of the season and we look for it to continue through Saturday.

It took a while for the girls' bats to wake up this morning, but their gloves were ready to work from the first pitch as the 16u Mudhens beat the Murietta Black Vipers 9-1 in 6 innings while turning 4 double plays.
The girls are back in action at 4:00 today with a rematch against No Fear from Los Angeles. Onward and upward! GO MUDHENS! ! !

So things didn't go so great in game 2 of Western B Nationals yesterday in Spokane as the 16u Mudhens lost to the Spokane Scream 9-1. Hats off to GSL MVP Jaya Allen who pitched a great game.
Bracket play begins today as the girls play the Murietta Black Vipers at 10:00. If we win, we play again at 4:00. If we lose, we play again tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. hopefully the girls come ready to play hard and win today. Onward and upward! GO MUDHENS! ! !

Western B Nationals here we come. We attended opening ceremonies tonight at Merkel Fields in Spokane and exchanged gifts with our first opponent, No Fear from Los Angeles. Play gets underway at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow. Our 2nd game is 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. This is our last tournament of the season and we hope to go out with a bang. Onward and Upward! GO MUDHENS!!!

We lost a heart breaker to the Spokane Scream 7-5. We now play at 6:00 and will play again at 8:00 if we win. Onward and upward! GO MUDHENS!!!

Things didn't go so well in Denver, but the girls have turned the corner at the ASA State softball tournament in Boise, ID. The girls pounded the Nampa Red Hots last night 12-0 and won again this morning against the Idaho Lightning 7-1. It's double elimination from here on out. Next up we have a tough matchup against the Spokane Scream @ 2:00. It should be a great battle. Onward and upward! GO MUDHENS!!!

Time to light some fires at the Denver FIREWORKS exposure tournament. We have a practice game at 9:30 followed by our 1st pool play game at 2:00. Onward and upward! GO MUDHENS!!!
