Howdy strangers! I’ve been absent lately, we’ll more than lately. I’ve slowly been stepping away from doula work over the last 2 years as I completed my pre-req’s to begin nursing school.

As I type this I’m basking in the craziness that I’ve just finished my first day as a coug nurse at WSU.

10 years ago I was in (possible) early labor with Will. We headed into the hospital and I was only 2cm. They had us walk the halls of Sacred Heart and we were both convinced it wasn’t labor. My mom had Addy and so we decided as soon as they told us that I was still 2cm- we were heading to sushi for a date night...
I was 7cm and never made it to sushi that night.
Today we celebrated Will surviving for a whole decade by enjoying a sushi feast 🍣🍱

My Sunday morning! But... I love it. All of it- the challenge, the learning, connecting all the pieces together.
It will be long and there will be (and have been) points where I won’t love it. But today I’m basking in knowing I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be ❤️

I have had so many former clients tell me they're so sad I'm no longer taking births... wait, WHAT?! I am definitely still taking clients while going to school. Although I'm taking much fewer clients per month I am still not ready to fully step away from being a doula. Please share my name with anyone you know who is expecting.
