Jeff Rogers Relationship Coach Personal and Business Relationship Coach What you want matters and I’m highly committed to supporting those results.

Since 1994, I’ve been helping people achieve higher levels of success in their business and personal lives as a successful seminar instructor, keynote speaker, corporate trainer and results coach. I started my company in 2007 after many years of frustration with other personal growth trainings that left people stuck and struggling without the tangible tools or support to help them make lasting lif

e changes. I made it my mission to create and deliver uncomplicated coaching and training methods and tools to empower my clients to push past their obstacles and finally achieve the serious results that previously eluded them. I believe in a very personal approach and taking the time to really know and understand my clients, their dreams and desires and the challenges that have kept them from having truly fulfilling relationships and living the life they always desired.

I can usually tell pretty quickly when someone is ready to make a real change.

They stop spending all of their energy telling me what the other person needs to fix.

And they start asking: "What can I do?"

That doesn't mean their spouse hasn't made mistakes. It doesn't mean they're taking responsibility for someone else's behavior. It means they're willing to work on the one person they actually have control over.

Themselves.

That's when coaching gets interesting. Because now we have somewhere to go.

Technology makes it easier than ever to communicate. But it doesn’t always make us better at it.

Take a simple text like: “We need to talk.”

That could mean a hundred different things. But with a text there’s no tone of voice. No facial expression. No body language.

So what fills in the blanks? The person reading it does.

If they’re already stressed or frustrated, they may immediately assume something’s wrong. If they’re in a completely different headspace, they might read the exact same words entirely differently.

That’s something we have to remember when so much of our communication happens through a screen.

Yesterday was a pretty special day for our family. Grandbaby #4 is here.

Four grandkids. It’s hard to believe sometimes.

Watching our family grow into the next generation is one of those things that makes you stop and appreciate just how blessed you are.

Everyone is doing well, and I’m looking forward to getting down there and meeting the newest little one soon.

Until then, I’m one very proud Pop Pop.

Welcome to the family, little one. You’ve got a whole lot of people who already love you.

I received a message from someone I was working with that really stuck with me.

She and her husband had been struggling with some things and needed to have a conversation. She used some of the tools we'd been working on, asked him to sit down together, and something was different this time.

The conversation stayed calm. She was able to communicate what wasn't working.

And afterward she told me: “I felt heard and understood.”

That's the win.

Not that they suddenly agreed about everything. Not that every problem disappeared overnight.

But that they were able to change the way they approached the conversation and create a different result.

That's why I believe so strongly in giving people tools they can actually use.

This is a form of communication.

This is probably my favorite way to explain what a relationship coach actually does.

Think about a football coach.

Their job is to help their players become the best they can be on the field. They’re watching how they perform, seeing things the player may not see, pointing out where they can improve, and giving them specific tools and actions to get better.

And it’s no different for relationship coaching. We look at how you perform on the field, we give you tools, you take action, you see the results.

What does a relationship coach actually DO? I get this question more often than you might think.

Most people have a pretty good idea of what marriage counseling looks like.

Relationship coaching? Not so much.

When I coach someone, I'm looking for the things you can't always see when you're standing in the middle of the problem. The blind spots. The patterns you keep repeating. The ways you might be contributing to the situation. And yes, sometimes I'm going to point out something you don't particularly want to hear. But I'm also going to give you practical tools and specific ways to start showing up differently. Things to take action on.

Maybe you need to stop trying to make your spouse wrong. Maybe you're defending yourself when you think you're simply explaining. Maybe you're waiting for your spouse to change while overlooking what you have control over.

That's coaching.

It's not about choosing sides or deciding who's right. It's about helping you see what you can't see, giving you tools you can actually use, and supporting you as you work toward a different result.

Marriage counseling and marriage coaching are very different approaches.

I wrote a new blog post explaining the differences, what you can expect from coaching, and if this kind of support may be right for you.

If you've ever wondered what I actually do when I work with couples, this is a good place to start.

There’s so much going on in the world.

It’s times like these that I’m grateful for my dad. That he taught me to be able to sit and be thankful for what I have. To be able to enjoy the beauty of nature.

To slow down long enough to notice what’s right in front of me.

A good cup of coffee. A quiet morning. The people I love. A life I’m incredibly grateful for.

There’s always going to be noise. There’s always going to be something demanding our attention, and these days we can carry all of it around with us right in our pocket.

But we get to decide how much of our attention we give it.

Sometimes we need to put the phone down, pour another cup of coffee, look around and remember just how much there is to be thankful for.

What’s something you’re grateful for this morning? Let me know in the comments.

Want to change your marriage for the better?

Start with something you actually have control over: YOU.

It's easy to see what your spouse could do differently.

They could listen more.
They could be more affectionate.
They could stop getting defensive.
They could put the phone down.
They could make more of an effort.

And maybe you're right about all of it.

But waiting for someone else to change puts your relationship in their hands.

One of the hardest lessons I've had to learn in my own life is to stop looking outward first and ask:
"How am I showing up?"

Am I listening?
Am I giving the same support, attention and affection I'm asking for?
Am I contributing to the solution, or am I waiting for her to go first?

Accountability doesn't mean everything is your fault. It means you're willing to take ownership of the part that's yours.

And that's a much more powerful place to live from.

You can't control what your spouse does next. But you don't have to wait for them to go first.
