As a veteran high school science teacher with over 20 years of experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my role as a tutor with VirtuSci High School Tutors I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Chemistry, Broadfield Science, and Secondary Education from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, and have taught a wide range of science classes, including AP Biology. I have experience in various teaching formats, including in-person, hybrid, and virtual classrooms, and have served as a department chair and curriculum writer. My teaching style focuses on hands-on learning, aligned with common core standards and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), and I prioritize creating a safe and inclusive classroom environment.

I am committed to assessing student progress and providing individualized feedback, and I strive to inspire a love for science and promote critical thinking skills in my students. Outside of teaching, I am involved in promoting science education through activities such as establishing a Science Club. My hobbies include conducting scientific experiments, stargazing, and hiking in nature. I am dedicated to being a caring, accountable, resourceful, and innovative educator, and I look forward to bringing my passion for science and teaching to VirtuSci Tutoring Services to support and empower students in their academic journey.
