High school football is BACK in West Michigan tomorrow night! 🏈

Here are 10 turnaround teams to watch in 2026 (in the 96.1 The Game coverage area) — teams coming off five wins or fewer that I think have a chance to make a significant jump in the win column this fall. 📈

A year ago, West Catholic (state champ) and Kent City (state semis) were among the area’s biggest turnaround stories.

So, who could be that team in 2026? Could someone on this list go from a losing record to playing for a district or regional championship?

Welcome !!

We are excited to officially announce that Varsity Dance is coming to Sparta Area Schools as a winter sport.

And leading the way as our Varsity Dance Coach is Olivia Ravell!

Olivia brings an incredible background in dance education, performance, choreography, and coaching. She began her dance education at just 3 years old and has trained extensively in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, lyrical, modern, and pointe. She is Level 5 trained in the Cecchetti method and is a Certified Level 2 Acro Teacher through Acrobatic Arts.

Olivia graduated from Hope College with a major in Dance: Performance and Choreography and a minor in Dance Pedagogy. While at Hope, she danced with the Strike Time Dance Company and later served as Assistant Director for two seasons. She was also honored with the Distinguished Artist Award from Hope College.

This is an exciting milestone for Sparta Athletics as we continue to expand opportunities for our students and provide more ways for Spartans to compete, grow, and represent our community.

Student Athletes interested in dance, stay tuned for an opportunity to meet the coach!
