20 hours per week | Part-Time

The GIFT School is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and flexible Special Education Teacher to join our inclusive microschool community.
Our small-school environment allows teachers to build meaningful relationships with students and provide individualized, hands-on instruction that meets each child where they are.
We are looking for an educator who is comfortable thinking outside the traditional classroom and enjoys working collaboratively in a flexible microschool setting.

QUALIFICATIONS
✔ Minimum 3 years of teaching experience required
✔ Special education teaching experience required
✔ Experience working with students with diverse learning needs
✔ Strong understanding of differentiated and individualized instruction
✔ Patient, compassionate, dependable, and enthusiastic
✔ Excellent communication and teamwork skills
✔ Comfortable adapting to changing student and classroom needs
✔ Ability to work with students across different ages and ability levels
✔ Teaching license/certification preferred

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Provide individualized and small-group instruction
Adapt curriculum to meet individual student needs
Support academic, social, emotional, behavioral, and functional development
Implement accommodations and individualized learning strategies
Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, families, and school leadership
Participate in classroom activities, transitions, and school routines
Be willing to jump in wherever needed to support student success

First day back to school and Gerty Goose is all dressed up and ready to go! It was a wonderfully fun day full of “firsts” for many of our students. Excited for this year!

This picture is a perfect illustration of our school! Barefoot, smiles, headphones, balloons…

During back to school night, we had parents, grandparents, therapists, volunteers, teachers, and students mingling, playing, and learning about each other and our school. Some kids wore shoes, others took them off (one had them on the wrong feet 😊), some sat in strollers and others in laps, some wandered on stage and under pews but they all felt welcomed and loved.

We provide a school for all children to be exactly who they are created to be! ❤️❤️❤️

Tonight is our Back to School night! We are so excited to welcome 24 kids through our doors!
As we expand our elementary program, we are developing our model of education.
