Carroll ISD Special Olympics

We had the honor of taking 15 athletes to the Special Olympics Texas State Track Meet this past weekend! It was a weekend filled with friendly competition, dance parties, and camaraderie. Proud to be a Dragon! 🐉🥇

Our 7th Annual Dragon Dash was a huge success! 🐉🥇

We hosted 350+ athletes and 8 visiting teams for an incredible day of competition, teamwork, and celebration. This event wouldn’t be possible without our amazing coaches, staff, 250+ student volunteers, and generous community partners who show up for our athletes year after year.

Special SHOUT OUT to our many supporters:

▫️Special Programs teachers and staff for their time, energy, and support throughout the day
▫️Over 250 student volunteers from multiple organizations who assisted with events and supported athletes
▫️The Dragon BBQ Team for providing lunch for student and staff volunteers (lunch sponsored by Lewisville Autoplex and water sponsored by Roxann Taylor – Engel & Völkers)
▫️JJ Clark for donating water for the event
▫️Gateway Church for allowing us to use their parking facilities and providing shuttle services for spectators
▫️Carroll Athletic Booster Club for their financial support and dedication to the growth and success of our Dragon Athletes
▫️National Charity League – Southlake Chapter for their continued financial support and consistently providing volunteers for all of our events
▫️Southlake Foundation for providing event shirts for all athletes and volunteers
National Charity League – Southlake, Metroport and Trophy Club Chapter, and Young Men’s Service League – Southlake and Lakes Chapter for their volunteer support
▫️Our SROs, Southlake Police Department, and Southlake Fire Department for leading our Athlete Parade and supporting the event
▫️CMS staff and administration for their coordination and support throughout the day
▫️Dragon XCEL Transition Program for organizing and running concessions
