Long before today’s generation of women and girls stepped onto the first tee, others were laying the foundation for them.

They organized championships. Fought for access. Taught the game. Built junior programs. Volunteered countless hours. And created opportunities that have helped make the Carolinas one of the strongest places in the country for women’s golf.

From pioneers like Aggie Morton Cocke and Peggy Kirk Bell to the players, teachers, administrators and volunteers who followed, their impact can still be felt across the game today.

In the Fall Issue of Carolinas Golf, Lee Pace looks back at the generations of women who helped build the competitive golf landscape we know today.

From a small-town clothing store in Fuquay-Varina to helping shape two of golf’s most recognizable apparel brands, Chris Knott has come a long way without changing much at all.

His journey has taken him from selling clothes as a teenager, to founding Peter Millar, to finding a new chapter with Johnnie-O. Along the way, the relationships, the work and the game of golf have remained at the center of it all.

Meet Chris Knott and hear the story behind the journey.

There’s a lot happening beneath the surface of a golf course.

For our Fall Issue of Carolinas Golf, we spent time with the people who see those details differently. The problems that can be easy to miss. The decisions that can save time, money and turf. And the relationships built over decades of walking courses throughout the Carolinas.

“A Second Set of Eyes” takes you inside the work of the CGA Agronomy Program and introduces you to the experts, superintendents and stories behind a service that has been part of the CGA since 1982.

Here’s a look inside the story. Swipe through, then read the full feature in the Fall Issue of Carolinas Golf at the link in our bio.
