Notification received today about Director of Student Support Services finalist:
“Dear Northborough Community,
I am pleased to share that the Northborough Public Schools has identified a finalist for the Director of Student Services position. Following a comprehensive search process that included stakeholder input, screening interviews, and finalist interviews with staff and families, the District has selected Jessica Burque as the finalist for the position.
Jessica brings more than 15 years of experience in special education leadership, student support services, and inclusive educational practices. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to fostering supportive, student-centered learning environments while ensuring high-quality services and programming for students with diverse learning needs. Her experience includes leadership in special education compliance, professional development, program implementation, family engagement, and collaborative problem-solving.
Jessica currently serves as the Director of Special Education for Sutton Public Schools, overseeing all aspects of special education programming and services in accordance with state and federal regulations. In this role, she coordinates districtwide student support services, supervises staff, develops budgets and grant funding plans, leads professional development, and works closely with families and educators to support student success. She also recently coordinated the implementation of the new statewide Individual Education Program process and led the district through the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s Public School Monitoring Process.
Prior to Sutton Public Schools, Jessica served for more than a decade as a Special Education Coordinator in the Boston Public Schools at the Curley K-8 School. During her tenure, she supported a large and diverse student population, coordinated special education and Section 504 processes, facilitated professional learning for staff, and worked collaboratively with educators and families to expand inclusive opportunities and strengthen systems of support for students.
As part of the finalist process, Jessica will participate in a site visit on Monday, June 1, 2026. This process will provide staff, families, and community members with an opportunity to meet the finalist, learn more about her leadership experiences and philosophy, and provide feedback to the District.
The search process has included valuable participation from faculty, staff, families, administrators, and community representatives. I appreciate the thoughtful input, time, and commitment that so many individuals have contributed throughout this important process.
