This summer, children came to L'Atelier to write songs.
They spent days working on lyrics. They listened to their own voices played back and asked to try again. They learned how a melody holds together, how a group of people make something that belongs to all of them.
Clay, light, movement, words, numbers, music, and nature become languages for thinking. This summer, music was the language.
The best way to understand L'Atelier is to walk through it.

🎶🌊 Sound Waves of Summer is here!
This summer, children turn explore the world of sound and turn it into an expressive language through voices, rhythms, movement, nature, color, imagination, and unconventional materials. Inside our Recording Studio, they become composers and young producers. 🎧✨Invited and inspired by Stephy Acosta, our Music Atelierista, this is a summer of music, research, expression, and discovery.

From Water Day and Coffee Friday to games, music, ice cream, reunions, and goodbyes, this celebration held so much of what makes L’Atelier feel like home: participation, presence, and community.
Thank you to our beautiful community for being part of this joyful day and for helping make it so full of life, laughter, play, and connection. 💦☀️🫧

This was more than a graduation. It was a journey through culture, imagination, and the future.
Our Jr.K & Kindergarten Class celebrated this milestone through Cultures in Flight: The Magic of the Future, a play created collaboratively by children and teachers and shaped by their research on birds, the values of the flock, time, the future, culture, and Wordology.
Birds from the future, traveled across countries carrying words for the future until they all arrived in Miami to celebrate together. What emerged was a beautiful reflection of this class: diverse, expressive, connected, and full of possibility.
There was something deeply meaningful in the way this story held both graduation and vision at once. It honored how much these children have grown, and also the kind of world they are already building.
We leave this celebration with full hearts, grateful for a year of research, creativity, and shared becoming. ✨

A celebration shaped by music, memory, and community.
In our Young Toddlers & Toddlers Class, we gathered to honor a year of growth and to celebrate each child by name through our graduation tradition. The morning held a ceremony, our traditional song, and a joyful surprise: a live jam session created by our own community.
Four parents and our Music Atelierista came together to form a band and play songs the children know and love: from La Vaca Lola and La Bamba to Life is a Highway. What emerged was more than a performance. It was a gift of presence, joy, and shared childhood culture.
Sounds of Childhood became exactly that: a living moment where children, families, and teachers met through music.
And that is what stayed with us most; not only the milestone, but the beautiful way this community chose to celebrate it together. 💗

The Princess of Wales, Catherine Middleton, visited Reggio Emilia this week, but the deeper story is not about royalty. It is about recognition.

The visit was officially centered on Reggio Emilia’s internationally recognised approach to early childhood, one that places relationships, creativity, innovation and community at the heart of development.

As Florida’s first Reggio-inspired preschool, we chose this path 30 years ago because we understood that the first years shape everything, and that children deserve an education where research, community, and creative + cognitive intelligence grow together.

Reggio Emilia is visible right now because it has always been essential.
And we are proud to have been listening for decades.
